SINGAPORE: Keppel Telecommunications &
Transportation (Keppel T&T) is planning to list Keppel DC REIT on
the Mainboard of the Singapore Exchange (SGX).
Keppel T&T Chief Executive Officer Thomas Pang said on Monday (Nov 10): "There has been a surge in demand for data centres, driven by a growth in e-commerce, cloud computing, and big data.
“Increasingly, these new generation data centres are also required to adhere to high environmental and security standards, areas which require significant knowledge and investment."
Keppel DC REIT plans to invest in real estate assets that are used for data centres, and its protfolio is expected to comprise eight data centre properties in Asia Pacific and Europe. These include Keppel Digihub and Keppel Datahub 1 in Singapore; Gore Hill Data Centre in Sydney; Basis Bay Data Centre 1 in Selangor, Malaysia; GV7 Data Centre in London; Almere Data Centre in Amsterdam; and Citadel 100 Data Centre in Dublin.
The company will be seeking shareholders approval for the listing at an Extraordinary General Meeting on Nov 25.
