Two years has passed. Uncle8888 didn't retire from his full-time job as employee to become Spider-man doing Great!

In the morning; he gets out of his bed based on level of laziness and the level of sunlight shining through the window which has no curtain! Less washing for Auntie8888. :-)

In the day, he spent most of his time as Butterfly viewing different landscapes, green, flora and mini garden across the land of Singapore. 

In the evening; he changed to Moth who is attracted by lights and most of the time returning home even later than 2 years ago.

In MRT stations; he watched out for elders who seen to be lost and asked them if they need help.

In bus and trains; he watched out for strange behavior by commuters during off-peak period travel. Funny sights!

He at first thought as retiree he will be alone; but the fact is retirees will often gather at various retiree spots and soon we are talking to each other and drinking "free" coffee, tea and reading newspapers.

Whatapps chat group is good. He has joined one chat group which has 14 ex-retirees from his ex-company.

In a real race, hare or tortoise win the race?

There are more monks than warriors hiding quietly at every corners of the large corporation smiling, cruising and waiting for time up to FIRE or officially retired with more savings.

The rest of them in large corporation are just farmers and many of them are hoping for re-employment at 62 and work till 67.

You are not warrior? Don't bang your head against the wall as warriors by nature is fewer in number. But, you can still choose to become monk as there is no limit in number by nature. 

How about staying on as farmer?

Most farmers will retire unappreciated and you don't mind that. Can lah!

Your life! You decide!

Can I refer to you as uncle CW like other readers?

I occassionally read your posts but came across a few earlier ones on reits.

I get the impression that you don't seem to like reits very much, or maybe its that you prefer stocks (that pay dividends) much more than reits.

CW8888:

We are biased to our own personal investing experience on risks, rewards, and investment outcome and performance over past market cycles. It will help to shape our future investing strategies to optimize our investment performance according to our account size and our personality in the market i.e 3 Ms - Method, Mind and Money Management.

Of course, Uncle8888 has S-REITs before; but S-REITs business model didn't seen to be a good fit in his portfolio management even though he is already in retirement phase depending on portfolio income stream.

Cash flow from our portfolio can come from combination of dividends, interests, and divestment. It will be excellent if we can defer any capital reduction to the longest.

HDB 4 Room Rental Soften???

Uncle8888 recently bumped into his long time no see neighbor who is living a few floors below him. 

After some chatting; he came to know that his neighbour has been living at her mother's place and rented out the entire 4 room flat.

That day; she came back to her unit to settle down her new tenant. 

Uncle8888 asked her about the rental rate. She said that the current rental is $2,000. The previous rental was $2,800. 

Down by 29%!
