I started serious Investing Journey in Jan 2000 to create wealth through long-term investing and short-term trading; but as from April 2013 my Journey in Investing has changed to create Retirement Income for Life till 85 years old in 2041 for two persons over market cycles of Bull and Bear.

Since 2017 after retiring from full-time job as employee; I am moving towards Investing Nirvana - Freehold Investment Income for Life investing strategy where 100% of investment income from portfolio investment is cashed out to support household expenses i.e. not a single cent of re-investing!

It is 57% (2017 to Aug 2022) to the Land of Investing Nirvana - Freehold Income for Life!

  1. For the last 40 years; most of the time for new acquaintance; they might ask to that effect of either where are you working or What are you working at?

Now when I replied retired and often the new younger acquaintance will respond something like "Enjoy life".

Sound confusing leh. So what is Ikigai? LOL!

  2. "My world is not your world and my kingdom is not your kingdom." Retirement is a capitalist concept. If I hv delinked from the capital economy, wouldn't I be taking an indeterminate sabbatical leave until I figure out what my new world(being) will be? Enjoy, feeling sad or otherwise is all in the one's control or is it by the spirit? I am searching.

    1. If my company has sabbatical policy; I would have taken few months sabbatical to do a pilot run. Actually; I have met quite a number of retirees who have said after crossing the six months threshold unlikely they will go back to work.

It's nice to get your acknowledgement that financial freedom is just one slice of our life - not the be all and end all!

We men should know. To some women, love is their everything in life; but to most men, love is just one part of our lives.
