Planning is useless??? (4)

Read? Planning is useless??? (3)

Read? Round 2 in Hong Kong!

Survey Says: Travel Makes Us Happier

The main study was led by Dr. Jeroen Nawijn, a senior lecturer in Tourism at the NHTV Breda University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands. The results: "Vacationers reported a higher degree of pre-trip happiness, compared to non-vacationers, possibly because they are anticipating their holiday. Only a very relaxed holiday trip boosts vacationers' happiness further after return. Generally, there is no difference between vacationers' and non-vacationers' post-trip happiness."

CW8888: So planning is useless?

Uncle8888 is planning for Round 3 to Hong Kong next month.

In Round 3, he hopes to cover the rest of the more popular places of attractions that were not previously covered in Round 1 &2 as indicated in the map:

Hopefully, there is no need for Round 4 for discovering Hong Kong via BMW (Bus, MTR, Walking the trails).

After this, planning to discover our neighboring state via BW (Bus and Walk)

So near and some more cheaper. Never discover them all?

Tak boleh!

  2. If you are going, check with the locals how to BMW to "Lau Fau Sun". Here is where the locals go for their seafood. It's something equivalent to our old Ponggol ( fishing village/market) where we went for seafood.
Still thinking of the savour of the lobster with noodle there. i try to hunt for the same taste in Singapore but so far can't find any.
But that was some years ago. Better check with locals if anything change.

    1. At the last trip, I went to Lei Yu Mun Fish Market.

All the seafood stalls and restaurants there not showing price tag.

Like investing, not sure. don't invest!

      LOL!

This "Lau Fau Sun" got show price tag or not?

    2. Lau Fau Shan

Lau Fau Shan is famous for its oyster farming and the oyster beds along the shoreline area covering around 3,000 hectares. It is also a popular location for eating seafood. On the main street, a number of seafood stalls offer an enormous range of live seafood and shellfish ready for cooking and serving in the seafood restaurants nearby.
      Transport:

      (1) Take bus No. K65 from West Rail Tin Shui Wai Station to Lau Fau Shan;
      (2) Take minibus No. 35 at Tai Fung Street in Yuen Long.

Very fast internet works i supposed.
i remember we had to take 2 MRTs. The last part of the journey was a bus to LAU FAU SHAN's bus terminal.

  3. Can't remember lah. But we can always ask before confirmed order. Remember this is where their locals go not tourists. i remember only 2 to 3 restaurants there only. Also you can see many flats look like our HDB flats a short distance away.
Of course the restaurants there will know you are not locals, once you open your mouth. But you are a "Fisher man", You should know the market price of lobster(swimming one) in Singapore.
But if you can't "resist" to savour the dish, a little more expensive never mind lah. Remember what and why tourists are good for locals lah. You can afford it lah. Go for about 900 gram to 1kg
lobster. i think that is the best value for money. You don't want to pay for the shell more than for the meat.

    1. Okay. I will benchmark to Malaysia Boleh's lobster.

      Price of lobster

      Per 100 gm

      Deep sea: RM19
      Extra big: RM14
      Big: RM12
      Medium: RM10
      Small: RM8

I believe 2-5 are farmed lobsters.

I picked one extra big lobster about 750 gm and charged to the stomach at RM105 or S$43. Total lunch cost for 2 = RM160

My shortest trip out of Singapore

  4. No lah, you are Singaporean. You should bench mark to Singapore $ and not Malaysia Ringgit leh - not fair to yourself hoh!
If you go, come back and share if it still O. K. at "LAU FAU SHAN".
Maybe things have changed so much that it is no more a local but tourist's place already.
The last time we were there was 6 to 7 years ago. We like the "green shell" lobster braised with noodle, best. 900 gram to 1 Kg was really a "struggle" to wallop for 2 persons. But we have to be glutton at times when only 2 of us and no Singaporean friends around.
    Ha! Ha!

    1. HK costs of living is always higher than Singapore. Therefore you will find most things are more expensive.Except during the month of MID-AUTUMN festival, summer clothes are on sale every where. Don't let your GF or Wify goes there at that time hoh!
      Ha! Ha!
Do you think it will be better if they go to HK at other times?
Don't think so lah. In fact it will be worse. Why?
