Meeting And Learning From Successful Retail Investor And Trader
Last Friday; one new reader jio SMOL and Uncle8888 for kopi session at Ya Kun.
After knowing that he has been trading US market; then we asked him what is his objective of meeting us?
He said he wanted to meet and learn from successful investors and traders in Singapore to become an investor in Singapore market to build up investment portfolio for his retirement.
Now thinking back.
Are investment bloggers making successful investment looked simplified?
May be some investment bloggers have not articulate strongly that their investing journey is not that simple as what others have been reading about them.
How many of them can see beyond what they have seen and read?
Read? 16 Years of doing short-term trading and long-term investing in SGX. The Records!!! (2)

CW,
ReplyDeleteSome are not exactly "upright" - know the truth but hides it to secure whatever vested interests they have.
Some sincerely believe investing is "easy" and for everyone - they started their journeys from 2009. (I used to think like that when I started out too. Nasdaq 2000 thankfully straighten me up!)
We have through our own experiences and see with our own eyes, what's it like when the more we invest, the more we lose...
How some have downgraded from landed property to HDB thanks to "investing".
How some marriages have broken up - lose money in investing will be called "gambling addiction" by your spouse.
The reader who jio us out has not asked about passive indexing, dividend income strategies, nor value investing. That means he has not given up on Trading yet ;)
Most retail "investors" are failed traders anyway.
Traders and investors are just opposite sides of the SAME coin ;)
