I started serious Investing Journey in Jan 2000 to create wealth through long-term investing and short-term trading; but as from April 2013 my Journey in Investing has changed to create Retirement Income for Life till 85 years old in 2041 for two persons over market cycles of Bull and Bear.

Since 2017 after retiring from full-time job as employee; I am moving towards Investing Nirvana - Freehold Investment Income for Life investing strategy where 100% of investment income from portfolio investment is cashed out to support household expenses i.e. not a single cent of re-investing!

It is 57% (2017 to Aug 2022) to the Land of Investing Nirvana - Freehold Income for Life!

Luck in investing???

Just For Thinking ...

Read? When picking stocks, keep it simple?

Stock picking is part science, part art, part luck, part intuition, and always uncertain - "not precisely knowing." - (Forgotten the Author)

Read? Does 3 strikes make a good bowler?

The greatest investment reward comes to those who by good luck or good sense find the occasional company that over the years can grow in sales and profits far more than industry as a whole.

Luck???

The ways retail investors can get lucky; but the luck may not last long enough to keep happening across market cycles unless one gets lucky and quit the market to maintain one's track  record.

  1. Blind or Plain Luck
  2. Reasoned Luck
  3. Seasoned Luck

Reasoned luck coming from many hours of hard works of acquiring knowledge and upgrading skills.

Seasoned Luck coming from years of understanding the market, patience, intuition and gut.

Can we keep counting on blind or plain luck in the market???

  1. Hi CW8888,
Wah! There are so many kinds of luck! For me, whoever you are, whatever you do, you still need GOD's Blessings.
And do you like to categorize it?
