I started serious Investing Journey in Jan 2000 to create wealth through long-term investing and short-term trading; but as from April 2013 my Journey in Investing has changed to create Retirement Income for Life till 85 years old in 2041 for two persons over market cycles of Bull and Bear.

Since 2017 after retiring from full-time job as employee; I am moving towards Investing Nirvana - Freehold Investment Income for Life investing strategy where 100% of investment income from portfolio investment is cashed out to support household expenses i.e. not a single cent of re-investing!

It is 57% (2017 to Aug 2022) to the Land of Investing Nirvana - Freehold Income for Life!

Burning our life candle at both ends????

In the name of Passion or chasing the Big Dream, some may have over-worked or over-stretched themselves like a candle burning horizontally at both ends; which would cause the wax to drip and burn out quickly. It will not last through the night!

  1. CW8888,

    Very "Cheem" philosophy.

What I know is SMART Goal.
    S - Specific
    M - Measurable
    A - Attainable
    R - Realistic
    T - Timeline

    1. SMART GAOL sounds O. K.
But how to know you are heading in the right path, practically?
You have to do it first then you will know.
Then you learn to adjust as you go along.
There is no two ways about it.
You have to do it first then you will know.
      Right?

  3. Once we reach a certain point in our life, the life candle is now held HORIZONTALLY instead of vertically when we are younger and now causing the wax to drip off into the thin air.

See the clue when the candle is held vertically and burning, see what happen to the dripping wax?

    "Cheem"?

    1. "Cheem" is becasue I don't understand why we must hold the candle holizotally. We don't have to hold the candle holizontally lah...
life is short and be relistic what we want and what we can achive. We still can hold the candle vertically and let it burn naturally lor.

It is the matter of choice. Why must overwork and/or overstretch?

  4. Yes!
But we still try our best to leave at least something behind for my only son.
With this mindset, we can spend without worrying so much of our taps running dry.
Of course, we can upgrade our living standards if we decided to leave less for him.
We are in our "De-accumulation phase"
But you will never know that we are still trying to "accumulate" whenever there is an opportunity.
It's not easy for a leopard to change its spots
    Ha! Ha!

    NB:-
Anyway, my son start real trading for real money in his online game.
i told him he is making money in in his trading because he knows his game market well; at least more then those gamers who are willing to buy from him.

So i told him it is the same with the stock market .
In order to make money you have to know the stock market well; at least more than those who are willing to buy from you.
