ReplyDeleteCW, congratulations on your out-performance so far this year. Our STI was an out-performer in Asian stock markets in 2021. In 2022 thus far (though still early), it has outperformed even the U.S market. In fact, our STI is a global out-performer so far.
ReplyDeleteHope to see more vibrancy back to our local markets! Show them the money!
Ha Ha! Best in Asia!
DeleteHaha. Best in Asia so far. I thought India's stock market was better but after adjusting for currency effects, STI is ahead slightly.
DeleteSTI is ahead of the S&P500 and Nasdaq100 by a wide margin year-to-date but it's still very early. Let's hope the out-performance maintains momentum till the end of the year!
Reflation trade.
ReplyDeleteAnybody remembers when the last time global economy improving with increasing interest rates & higher inflation? And tech stocks were experiencing shrinkage of multiples?
STI beats S&P500 by 99 percentage points.
It wasn't until inflation expectations & interest rates reached a critical level that started to affect all the junk corporate and consumer credit that the economy began to break apart.
PS: Developed Europe also did well that time. Surprisingly Japan Nikkei also did better than S&P500.
Wah! From 2003 to 2007, STI outperformed S&P 500. But; later from 2008 to 2009; I lost my pant in 2008 and 9 lost years in compounding. This time will I be wiser?
