I started serious Investing Journey in Jan 2000 to create wealth through long-term investing and short-term trading; but as from April 2013 my Journey in Investing has changed to create Retirement Income for Life till 85 years old in 2041 for two persons over market cycles of Bull and Bear.

Since 2017 after retiring from full-time job as employee; I am moving towards Investing Nirvana - Freehold Investment Income for Life investing strategy where 100% of investment income from portfolio investment is cashed out to support household expenses i.e. not a single cent of re-investing!

It is 57% (2017 to Aug 2022) to the Land of Investing Nirvana - Freehold Income for Life!

  1. I have shared my experience as a buy and hold investor before. Reproduced here:

Believe it or not, I have not sold a single share on my own volition since I bought my very first stock in 1987. I still have that stock !!

Because of that stubborn buy & hold mentality (or "strategy" if you want to call it), I have seen my stocks:

    1. Become multi baggers
    2. Split and gave birth to baby shares
    3. Become worthless
    4. Become penny stocks
    5. Forced sold (delisted ie taken private)
    6. Merged with other stocks
    7. Bought over by major share holder
    8. Suspended for a long time

I can say I have experienced it all.

Needless to say, some of my stocks have become "freehold" or free to hold because I have recouped the cost of the shares through years of dividends collected, while others were a total write off.

    1. Buy and hold forever by building a diversified portfolio through position sizing across market cycles may turn out to be Winning a Loser's Game. :-)
