In Singapore, Keppel FELS will upgrade Ensco’s semi-sumbersible

The yard will upgrade major systems, machinery spaces, drill floor, derrick and living quarters as well as renew the steel and piping systems, as well as to paint the entire unit.
The project is scheduled for completion in the first quarter of next year.
Dutch subsidiary Keppel Verolme is carrying out a special periodic survey on Rowan Drilling’s jack-up Rowan Gorilla VI, including an upgrade of drilling equipment as well as other works.
The project is due to complete in the fourth quarter of 2013.
The Rotterdam-based yard is also carrying out a set of modifications and repairs on Saipem’s Scarabeo 5 semi-submersible, which is on a three-year contract with Statoil.
The works, including an overhaul of the thrusters and anchor winches and a top drive upgrade, are due to finish in September.
