I started serious Investing Journey in Jan 2000 to create wealth through long-term investing and short-term trading; but as from April 2013 my Journey in Investing has changed to create Retirement Income for Life till 85 years old in 2041 for two persons over market cycles of Bull and Bear.

Since 2017 after retiring from full-time job as employee; I am moving towards Investing Nirvana - Freehold Investment Income for Life investing strategy where 100% of investment income from portfolio investment is cashed out to support household expenses i.e. not a single cent of re-investing!

It is 57% (2017 to Aug 2022) to the Land of Investing Nirvana - Freehold Income for Life!

Not Too Little. Not Too Much. Not Too Late!!!

Why long-term investing is never easy for many retail investors?

This is all about balancing act!

Not too little : Not helping much when we finally got a multi-bagger stock but it is only a few lots

Not too much:  When market crashes, we can still sleep without nightmares.

Not too late: Late to enter or too late to exit!

Move into Maintenance mode for fitness to remain slim and fit and move into Sustainable Income for Life over future market cycles with at least Three Taps solution model.

At yesterday kopi session; just one out of five of us; he hasn't gone into maintenance mode for his fitness. At his last annual medical health check; his cholesterol is getting higher; but no need for medication yet. He is now at his 50.

Uncle8888 told him if he still giving excuses then he may have to go into medication mode to control his cholesterol level. He is already quite careful of his own diet but still not enough as his test result has shown up.

For fitness and slimness; once we get into Maintenance mode; it is quite easy to calibrate back whenever we detect or notice some misalignment around our belly - that Little Italy! We can flatten it fast with just some incremental effort!

Same as retirees; we need to move into sustainable retirement income for life mode so that we will have less nightmares over future market cycles. Market crashes also we can still sleep well!

Cash Flow For A Living : Traders vs. Investors View

They will not see eye to eye as trading is an active role to make a living and in fact; it is just another part-time job in disguise while investing can be periodic active and more often inactive with nothing much to react.

To be able to survive as retail investors from cash flow for a living; this is what Uncle8888 has observed from the Cyber world on those who have made it. Their account size!

In investing, our account size really matters! - CW8888

How to increase our account size to that level of adequacy to deliver meaningful cash flow to fund living expenses?

Our job? No?

To save more : Cut Expenses or Increase Earning? To slim more : Cut diet or Increase Exercises?

There is a limit on how much expenses can we cut without impacting our healthy intakes.

Same as dieting.

There is a limit on how far we can put ourselves on diet without living out our life. Why do we want to make more money? To eat better. To enjoy better. If no, no then why we work so hard for money. We can't bring our money to our coffin. Why we still need so much money?

Uncle8888 is more towards earn more and exercise more camp rather than cutting more expenses and more dieting.

Assigning Each Significance To An Event

Read? Assigning Each Significance To An Event

What is the level of significance of the event 10 minutes from now?
What is the level of significance of the event 10 months from now?
What is the level of significance of the event 10 years from now?

Hmm ...

Somehow, now; Uncle8888 did understand or realize something after reading it.

In the world of long-term investing and short-term trading; assigning each significance to an event happening; and after it has happened.

Most retail think that they are long-term investors. But; can they afford to take their eyes off on any one event without worry that they have missed out significantly?

Do they behave like traders or investors?

Singapore's household wealth rises 2.9% in 2016 to S$1.1 trillion

Read? Singapore will be a land of millionaires by 2020, predicts report

BT, NOV 22, 201612:32 PM

SINGAPORE'S household wealth grew 2.9 per cent in 2016 to reach US$1.1 trillion and this upward trajectory is expected to continue in the next few years, says a global wealth report.

The Credit Suisse Research Institute on Tuesday published its seventh annual global wealth report which projected the Republic's household wealth to rise 3.5 per cent per year in the next five years to reach US$1.4 trillion in 2021.

And even as growth slows, Singapore's wealth per adult rose 1.4 per cent to US$277,000 in 2016, making Singapore seventh top economy in the world with the highest average wealth per adult.

The report said this is expected to rise 2.2 per cent per annum to reach US$309,000 in 2021. This would compare to annual growth rate of 6 per cent from 2000 to 2016, led by high savings, asset price increases, and a favourable rising exchange rate from 2005 to 2012.

Financial assets make up 54 per cent of gross household wealth in Singapore, a ratio similar to that of Switzerland and the United Kingdom, the report said.

Wealth distribution in Singapore is moderately unequal, with 18 per cent of its adult population with wealth below US$10,000, compared with 73 per cent globally.

"Singaporeans have also progressed rapidly up the wealth pyramid, with now 50 per cent of adults having wealth above US$100,000, compared to 21 per cent in 2000, while those with wealth below US$100,000 have declined from 79 per cent to 50 per cent of adult population," said the report.

In 2016, Singapore has 150,000 millionaires, up 2 per cent, with a total of US$541 billion in wealth.

The number of ultra high net worth individuals here grew even faster, at 14.2 per cent to 885.

By 2021, the report said, the number of millionaires is forecast to grow 4.2 per cent per annum to 185,000.

Other trends mentioned in the report include how the overall growth in global wealth remained limited in 2016 and that in the mid term, only moderate acceleration is expected.
