I started serious Investing Journey in Jan 2000 to create wealth through long-term investing and short-term trading; but as from April 2013 my Journey in Investing has changed to create Retirement Income for Life till 85 years old in 2041 for two persons over market cycles of Bull and Bear.

Since 2017 after retiring from full-time job as employee; I am moving towards Investing Nirvana - Freehold Investment Income for Life investing strategy where 100% of investment income from portfolio investment is cashed out to support household expenses i.e. not a single cent of re-investing!

It is 57% (2017 to Aug 2022) to the Land of Investing Nirvana - Freehold Income for Life!

Big Fat Purse and Small Thin Wallet???

Uncle8888 has this feeling ...

In the ACTIVE financial and investment blogs; most of these bloggers belong to Big Fat Purse and fewer actually belongs to Small Thin Wallet.

Big Fat Purse can buy and buy and buy till near market low; sell and sell and sell till near market top; show and show their big fat dividends.

What do you think?

Can we generally follow financial and investment bloggers' investing strategy without doing our own research or research on bloggers' research or without knowing our wallet size?

Trust but verify - SMOL

  1. I guess it pays off in the long run to be a good skeptic who knows to assess the merits of any claim independent of who presents it.
Whether or not we realize it, perceptions of authority and superiority impress us and influence us whether they are valid or not.
Truth can come from below us and lies can come from above us.
I try to pay less attention to the messenger and more attention to the message and whether that one fits with my objectives in the first place.

  2. Very true!

Watch what they do and NOT what they say.

Th most important thing when reading blogs, forums and chat-boxes is - Do they have vested interest?

    :-)

  3. It's no different from finding the pair of shoes that fit us ;)

I remember a time in the 80s when Scholl sandals were the rage for that "ah beng" look.

I bought one and its terribly uncomfortable!

    Never again I say ;)
