I started serious Investing Journey in Jan 2000 to create wealth through long-term investing and short-term trading; but as from April 2013 my Journey in Investing has changed to create Retirement Income for Life till 85 years old in 2041 for two persons over market cycles of Bull and Bear.

Since 2017 after retiring from full-time job as employee; I am moving towards Investing Nirvana - Freehold Investment Income for Life investing strategy where 100% of investment income from portfolio investment is cashed out to support household expenses i.e. not a single cent of re-investing!

It is 57% (2017 to Aug 2022) to the Land of Investing Nirvana - Freehold Income for Life!

    Hi Uncle CW8888, I'm puzzled by what you just said. Didn't you blog that you had stopped doing contra after a few successive big losses in the 2008 or 2009 period? I think you have also been advocating this fact, that there is very little chnace of making it rich by doing short term trading, which Contra should count as one, shouldn't it? Hmn, what's the truth and what's the secret?

    Those of us who learnt the "truth" through our own (bitter) experiences will smile.

    But I was thinking...

    Even if we shared our experiences, it would be our word versus the words of snake oil salesmen.

    We have seen, despite admission of guilt, ponzi scheme operators and false prophets will still have their fervent supporters.

    A section of our population will always prefer to have others do the thinking for them (worker ants?).
