Buy and hold???
The same old debate will start fresh once again whenever we have new investment bloggers on board.
Take a good look and seriously think over it.
The keys to long-term investing:
- Market timing.
- Pocket must be deep enough to buy enough of them on sales. ("It's not whether you're right or wrong that's important, but how much money you make when you're right and how much you lose when you're wrong." ~ George Soros)
- Right and Hold.
it looks like both. how do people differentiate?

ReplyDeleteBuy and Hold is easy. Many investors are doing it naturally. Don't believe? We can check around us and see how many people are sitting on big paper losses using Buy and Hold strategy.
Something like this:
Sitting on paper losses but collect dividends: Buy and Hold
Sitting on paper gains and collect dividends: Right and Hold
Sitting on paper losses but no dividends: Buy and Forget. Pls don't remind me.
Hi CW,
DeleteWe are all certainly what you said one time or another, if we are market's survivors. But among the "BUY and Forgets", some of them have discovered they become millionaires after 20-30 years, when they remember. They are the real "BUY and Forgets" by accident.
For me as you know i purposely "BUY & Forget" HP for almost 25-30 years, and i am still as poor. Maybe i should have done it by accident.(a different company like coca cola or IBM).
“人 算 不 如 天 算”
What can i do better? Life goes on. i still have to try to do better.
Right and hold. So hard to do. Uncle how to know when you are wrong?
ReplyDeleteAfter three consecutive months of not making any kopi money in Sep 20111, I knew I was wrong and stopped buying further. LOL
