I started serious Investing Journey in Jan 2000 to create wealth through long-term investing and short-term trading; but as from April 2013 my Journey in Investing has changed to create Retirement Income for Life till 85 years old in 2041 for two persons over market cycles of Bull and Bear.

Since 2017 after retiring from full-time job as employee; I am moving towards Investing Nirvana - Freehold Investment Income for Life investing strategy where 100% of investment income from portfolio investment is cashed out to support household expenses i.e. not a single cent of re-investing!

It is 57% (2017 to Aug 2022) to the Land of Investing Nirvana - Freehold Income for Life!

Selling Rights?

Once you don't have the money to subscribe to the rights issue, you have become a sucker; but by selling away the rights, you just become a sucker slowly as your interests are diluted anyway.

  1. Hi Uncle8888,

It's very true our share interests are diluted when we have no money to subscribe or for renounceable rights we sell away our rights, because we think it's not worth to subscribe.
At this time we are really the suckers.

For me, Nol is an example.
But market turns around so quickly, that I am making paper profit on this stock that I wish I have subscribed for my rights. Then I would have made more.

So not all rights issue make me a sucker.
On the contrary, I am a sucker because I sell away some of them which are good for the future of the companies.

The problem is it is not easy to judge which right issue is good or bad for the future of the company.

  3. No money to subscribe to rights is a sucker.

If subscribed, not all right issues are bad. That is true.
