Average CPF member is not stock market savvy?

Read? Resident wants ban on CPF cash for investments

"Allowing people to buy shares with their CPF money is like sending lambs to the slaughterhouse." 'The average CPF member is not stock market savvy." -  Ngiam Tong Dow

This is what Mr. Ngiam thinks; but how does an average CPF member thinks of his/her investing skills?

Probably like drivers on the road most of them will think that they are above-average.

  1. Yes, everyone needs time to learn theory & practical but BAN???
After paying some "school fees" in the stock markets, some will learn very fast. Some average but some will think it is a 'casino'. And some burnt so badly, they will never touch the stock market again.
But if you don't jump into the water with the presence of a swimming coach or no coach, you will never learn to swim.
Of course with a swimming coach is the best course to take. But is there any good swimming coach around? Please let me know.
