I started serious Investing Journey in Jan 2000 to create wealth through long-term investing and short-term trading; but as from April 2013 my Journey in Investing has changed to create Retirement Income for Life till 85 years old in 2041 for two persons over market cycles of Bull and Bear.

Since 2017 after retiring from full-time job as employee; I am moving towards Investing Nirvana - Freehold Investment Income for Life investing strategy where 100% of investment income from portfolio investment is cashed out to support household expenses i.e. not a single cent of re-investing!

It is 57% (2017 to Aug 2022) to the Land of Investing Nirvana - Freehold Income for Life!

If My Children Kept Asking Me How Much Money I Have? I Will Feel Like F.....


Lucky; they never ask and Uncle8888's spouse too. They just know those money in their joint bank accounts. CPF OA, they may know if they bother to read his blog! RA is a known fact! The rest is unknown but roughly they will know at least how much money he has.

Why should children and spouse be so concerned over his money?

Month after month and year after year; they didn't run out of money and have to borrow money to live on!

Uncle8888 doesn't announce his Reserve! LOL!

    I don't see any advantage of letting other people know how rich a person is unless he is a snake-oil trying to project a rich and successful image. Some people feel that a rich/successful image impresses people and helps to sell.

    Really true! Snake-oil needs to project rich and impress. That is the power of showing off to impress. Another snake-oil who is still selling trading courses once posted a photo of himself against the background of one Sentosa Cove property and claimed that he made the down payment already.

    This colleague was sitting beside Uncle8888 in the meeting room and after reading one of his FB's post he briefly mentioned one trader became rich by trading binary options and showing off his Ferrari!

    Out of 10 trading course sellers, most are snake-oils looking for bei-kamping victims to get rich. Out of the remaining who started off as good eggs, many will eventually turn to snake-oil techniques to drive their sales. Bad incentives drive this industry. One of the bad bad eggs(probably the most successful among them) even got listed in Australia stock exchange.

    I've already done my part to warn people on my blog, forums, telegram. There will always be a ready market of bei-kampings to enrich this industry. I cannot control them but at least I have done my part.

    May be there are two types of Bei Kambing - One believing in paying token sum in promise they will inherit the Secret to green and easy grassland; while the other type is putting in time and effort to cultivate their own grassland. Richer or poorer? Only got themselves to be blamed.
