I started serious Investing Journey in Jan 2000 to create wealth through long-term investing and short-term trading; but as from April 2013 my Journey in Investing has changed to create Retirement Income for Life till 85 years old in 2041 for two persons over market cycles of Bull and Bear.

Since 2017 after retiring from full-time job as employee; I am moving towards Investing Nirvana - Freehold Investment Income for Life investing strategy where 100% of investment income from portfolio investment is cashed out to support household expenses i.e. not a single cent of re-investing!

It is 57% (2017 to Aug 2022) to the Land of Investing Nirvana - Freehold Income for Life!

  4. Very sad to hear this. When I first started blogging, your dad was an inspiration to me. Later on, I found out he was working in the same company as me and we even met just before he retired from his work. Still remembered his happiness from achieving financial independence and being able to retire from his full time work and he also shared many advices for me.

My condolences to you and your family.

  5. This is so sudden, as he just had a post last month. Unfortunately, he is still relatively young at 67 years old.

Although I don't really know him, but I have read his posts over the years.

My deepest condolences to uncle's family.

    一路走好

  14. I've never met CW before, so I'm not close to him although I read and commented on his blog occasionally because of the quality of commenters it attracted, like Spurs. One thing that separates him from other bloggers is his blog does not even have advertisements despite the high traffic. On this aspect, he is superior to money-face people like me who have google ads on my blog. The lack of adverts tells us he is someone who shares without an agenda to milk his followers later. Nothing wrong with trying to make some money if the blogger provides value to his followers. It's just refreshing to have a blogger who does not do that.

From the outpouring of messages since this bad news, I can see he will be remembered fondly. This is testament to the value that he has created to his readers. It is one of the legacies he leaves behind.

Regina, I think you and your brothers will feel proud to have a father like CW.

  16. Hi Regina,

My sincere and deepest condolences to you and your family. It really saddens me to know the news. Still, it’s good to see y’all family getting on strong today at the wake. Also glad to know at least your dad left in peace and without much pain.

CW or Jacob is definitely a huge inspirational figure in the financial blogosphere, being smart, humble and peaceful and always giving good and logical advices. If not for covid, guess we should have meet more times. It’s a joy to get to know him for the last decade.

CW Jacob.. may you rest in peace and we are sure you are in the bosom of Abraham now! God bless you and your family.
