I started serious Investing Journey in Jan 2000 to create wealth through long-term investing and short-term trading; but as from April 2013 my Journey in Investing has changed to create Retirement Income for Life till 85 years old in 2041 for two persons over market cycles of Bull and Bear.

Since 2017 after retiring from full-time job as employee; I am moving towards Investing Nirvana - Freehold Investment Income for Life investing strategy where 100% of investment income from portfolio investment is cashed out to support household expenses i.e. not a single cent of re-investing!

It is 57% (2017 to Aug 2022) to the Land of Investing Nirvana - Freehold Income for Life!

  1. Hi CW,

I am also looking forward to next month May. Think the companies are making up for the last two years (2020 & 2021) where the dividends were either cut drastically or totally withheld.

From the dividends announced thus far, I am looking at $18,500 in dividends. With a few more companies to announce their dividends in early May, the amount for May very likely to exceed $20,000, bringing the total dividends from Jan to May to about $40,000.

This nicely augments the interests from our CPF savings, which is higher than the dividends for the same 5 months.

  2. CW,

You don't qualify as a yield hog lah!

Tonight I'll write my blog post on how to tell one is a yield hog.

CW, you're a Dividend Investor. Or what your masthead pic has shown, a fruit tree planter.

Yield hogs too lazy to wait for the tree to grow. Today plant, today must get the fruits immediately!

    Same, same; but different!
