XIRR in 2012 is probably caused by the spike in stock prices in 2009-2012. As you keep more and more cash in warchest, the remainder must work much harder to maintain the XIRR.. so I think it's expected for your decline in XIRR.. BIG BEAR come your XIRR will sky rocket again after recovery.
