Visually guided long-term investing goals! (2)

"The greater danger for most of us lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low, and achieving our mark." - Michelangelo

Read? Visually guided long-term investing goals!

Do read the above quote from Michelango again.

For their investing goals, some retail investors set to to beat inflation rate or even FD rate which is really low grade investing goal to achieve. Why not try setting higher investing goals and then seriously committed to them. It may open up your investing mind to explore your 3M's - Method, Mind and Money to meet them.

In 2003, I set my aim high and falling short in 2011

Again in 2012, I have set the aim high; but will it fall short this time in 2021???

  1. Eh?

This sounds familiar! Oh! Aim high shoot low?

Must understand that in corporate world, we all play the "under promise, over deliver" game.

If don't hit corporate goals got "consequence" one...

And before we knew it, we apply the same to our personal goals; without realising it may be limiting our potential.

I am with you on this one on not limiting our minds. Same destination.

Although my path differs from your "aim high" strategy. I prefer:

    I like to surprise myself!

Some people can be like Michaelangelo. - The high flyers. Some people goal is "goaless". They just love to prod along and learn to enjoy the journey. They can be goaless because they are themselves and nobody can tell them differently. At the end of the day they are usually surprised by the result. Sometimes trying too hard may give you the opposite result. i did try too hard sometimes.
By the way is goaless consider as a goal too?

    1. Temperament,

      Great question!

      My interpretation is:

      1) Goaless is a goal if I think about it.

      2) It's not if I didn't think about it ;)

  3. SMOL,
Exactly, goaless is also a goal. Aimless is also an aim. Planless is also a plan. Definitely nobody plans to fail. But someone fails to plan is really plan to fail by default. So my plan is to be goaless. Anything, anytime that can make money will learn to do.
