I started serious Investing Journey in Jan 2000 to create wealth through long-term investing and short-term trading; but as from April 2013 my Journey in Investing has changed to create Retirement Income for Life till 85 years old in 2041 for two persons over market cycles of Bull and Bear.

Since 2017 after retiring from full-time job as employee; I am moving towards Investing Nirvana - Freehold Investment Income for Life investing strategy where 100% of investment income from portfolio investment is cashed out to support household expenses i.e. not a single cent of re-investing!

It is 57% (2017 to Aug 2022) to the Land of Investing Nirvana - Freehold Income for Life!

  2. Hi CW88888,

I dunno how to use support and resistance as indicators, and I also dunno how low OCBC will go. I will buy 100 shares when STI ETF falls by 10 cents or about 100+ point drop of the STI Index. To reach the lows of 2009, the index need to drop by another 1000 points and I prepared money for that. However, it is unlikely to happen la.

    1. Buying STI ETF is as good as buying the Bankers. This round I will test out the concept of STI ETF vs. single blue chips stock pick and see the result at the next Bull.

    2. Derek,

Why are you planning for something you believe is unlikely to happen?

If it really happens, want to bet you'll be prepared?

Remember our conversation beginning of last year on that stock when its $3.60? The bleeding heart looked at me with incredulity when I mentioned below $3 ;)

To go below $3 will mean crisis valuation!

      Yup.

All my predictions have come true by sheer dumb luck :)

Now waiting for SGX to break below $6 ;)

    3. I will put my money on my prediction and let it be lucky or unlucky and see how true it is. Concept/Theory vs. The Real thing on the Ground :-)

    4. CW,

That's why I respect you although we are always at it ;)

Many don't quite understand your "Less analyzing; more investing".

I have your six on this one ;)

We all have our own Methods. When our plans triggers, we ACT.

Simple as that. What's there to analyse?

Unless you tell me there was no analysis when our initial plans were made?

Or worse still! Extensive analysis prior, but when its time to pull the trigger, we hesitate. That means we have no Method lah!

That's worse than no planning!!! Once convictions shaken, we are like deer frozen by the headlights...

    6. SMK,

      It's cool.

Small community; we know each other.

I never poke the weak and the lame. What's the point in that?

I see people up then poke.

If we can't stand a bit of heat, don't stay in the kitchen ;)

  3. Good conversation here. I wait very long already for market to tell me otherwise. Now stopped out. Just waiting for a short term bounce to enter again.
