SINGAPORE: Singapore shares ended midweek Wednesday on almost a two-year high, surpassing the 3,000 mark following the release of better-than-expected data and positive outlook on the country's economy.
The bench mark Straits Times Index was 1.6 per cent higher at closing bell, up 48.14 points to 3,019.74.
Some 2.56 billion shares exchanged hands at a value of S$2.51 billion, with gainers trouncing losers 438 to 175.
